Now that you have some ideas about what to write and post about, along with headline ideas, it is time to get out ANOTHER calendar... your editorial calendar!

An editorial calendar can be a number of different things.  It can be a simple desk calendar from the dollar store, an elaborate spreadsheet, OR a basic editorial calendar sheet (like the one we have below that you can download for free).

Let's assume you are reading this post in December.  Ideally, you will want to have your content and editorial calendar completed at least 5-6 weeks ahead of time.  If you are like most, you don't.  So, let's pretend we are starting from scratch.

Here's some good news, though...

Creating an editorial calendar and content strategy is not hard and shouldn't take much time if you followed the above "GETTING STARTED" points above.

Knowing what kind of content you want to post is the most important part of the content equation.  Filling it in (creating/writing yourself or purchasing content from us), is surprisingly easier when you have a focused plan.

Posts do not have to be long.  Short, easy to consume posts with great graphics are the best posts.  They are more likely to be shared and more likely to engage with your clients and prospects.
